MechSoc is the official departmental society aimed at Aerospace, Automotive, Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering students and not only.

Over the last years Mechsoc has developed into one of Surrey’s most successful departmental societies, winning Society of the Month in January 2020 and the Fundraiser of the Year Award at Union Ball 2020 as well as Gold Stars at Union Ball in 2021 and 2022. 

We have put on a range of social and academic-oriented events, leading to a considerable increase in memberships, making us the 3rd biggest society/club on campus. Mechsoc provides social, academic and professional opportunities targeted at MES students.

We stay engaged with our members and encourage you to approach us by constantly creating interactive content on Instagram (polls, open questions) and giving you constant opportunities to get involved in the decisions we make, allowing you to shape the society to your liking.

As signatories and committee members, we feel like our work has been rewarded with the growing success MechSoc had over the past year and we can only hope to keep the momentum going, becoming bigger and better for our future members.
